Reading: Go to https://www.storylineonline.net/library/

Pick the book selected for each day. If you cannot access it, have your child read a picture book from home and complete the questions listed for each day.


Virginia Studies:  This week we continue with review material.  We will be introducing new material next week while we continue to review what we have learned!


Science- We will be starting a new unit. We will be learning about VA Natural Resources!


Monday:

Math:  Go to Jlab- Click on 2007- 20 questions OR see Fractions Choice Board Below-Pick one activity to complete today.

Reading: Catching the Moon. Write down who the main characters were and summarize the book. *Remember who, what, where, when, why.

VS5 (Revolutionary War)

If possible, Print the Study Guide. If you are unable to print it, just continue to review the information from the web site. 

~Answer these questions:

1.Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

2.Who was the leader of the Continental Army?

3.Where did the Revolutionary War end?

4.Who is James Armistead Lafayette?

5.Who spoke out against Taxation without Representation?

~If you would like, email the answers to these questions to your teacher!


Science: Go on a nature walk and record your observations. What do you notice about the plants growing around you? Are there any water sources. If so what type? What sounds do you hear? Are there animals or insects, if so what are they? How do they help nature?


Writing (write in your language arts notebook: title and date or on loose leaf paper): You are stuck on an island. Write about how you got there, what you have with you and what you would do to survive.

Reading: Sylvester and the Magic Pebble. Determine the problem and solution. 


VA Studies: VS5

Write a paragraph about what you know about the Declaration of Independence.

-Who wrote it?

-When was it adopted?

-Why was it written?

Science: Make a list of all the natural resources you can think of then make a list of all man made resources. Compare and contrast them on a sheet of paper. Man Made Resources: items or substances created by humans: plastic, glass, machines . Natural Resources: items or substances created by nature: water, rocks ,soil, grass, coal.


Writing: If you could have any superpower in the world, what would it be and why? Write about the day you get your superpower and how you would use it. 


Wednesday:

Reading: Thank You, Mr. Falker. Write down how you feel about school and what you could do to make a positive impact on your classmates.

Writing: You fly to outer space and discover a new planet. Write about your experience. What did you see? Write about the new planet!
